At the first Psychiatry JC of the term, we will dive into the thrilling world of gambling behavior and psychiatric co-morbidities!
Although little is known regarding gambling behavior etiology, the Pathway model has frequently been cited as a possible explanation for psychiatric co-morbidities in problem gamblers. At the JC, we will discuss pros and cons of conceptual psychiatric models, possible critiques against the models, as well as implications for treatment study design.
Title of the article to be discussed:
Blaszczynski, A., & Nower, L. (2002). A pathways model of problem and pathological gambling. Addiction, 97(5), 487-499.
The JC will be led by doctoral student Olof Molander, and associate professor Anne H. Berman.
The Journal Club is intended for PhD-students associated with CPF. Coffee and sandwiches will be available from 8.15 AM. Registration for the JC is not necessary!
